Supercard of the Year: Blood Brothers III

*It was between this and the SPW vs IGA Charity Benefit Supershow – the voters felt the match that dealt with things between WILD & SPW was very entertaining and it left a lasting impression in their minds.

PPV of the Year: Culture Shock
2nd Place: Internecine
3rd Place: Iconoclasm
4th Place: Syko Summer Series 2006

*Culture Shock had a top-notch line-up and the main event of AsH vs Larry Gionet for the World title ended in an amazing fashion, especially with the presence of The Biz. This alone would start a first-rate battle between two men who refused to ever say quit. The voting board considered at one point giving the award to Internecine but a public voice made them reconsider that decision. Congratulations to AsH for booking Iconoclasm which had two of the strongest fights of the year as well as Syko for promoting the Syko Summer Series in our summer off-season which was so successful it earned him the job of Raw Sports Network's Executive Director.

Feud of the Year: The Biz vs Larry Gionet
2nd Place: AsH vs AJ Black
3rd Place: Jason Storm vs Steve Greedy
4th Place: "The Reaper" Damien Norton vs "Deadpool" Ian Christoph

*If you ask any SPW fan what they remember about 2006, the majority of them will say it was the blood war between Gionet and The Biz which would go as far to even include the entire fed as one entity against a hated enemy in WILD. Jason Storm and then Adam Lazarus would have a feud with Greedy that has continued to this day, and former World Champion, the late Damien Norton had a controversial series of hardcore battles with the Mad Norse Middleweight "Deadpool" Ian Christoph.

Match of the Year: Gionet vs The Biz, Last Man Standing
2nd Place: AsH vs Davis vs Greedy vs Cage vs Storm vs Mercenary – 6 Pack World Title Match
3rd Place: Gionet vs Greedy – 60 Min Ironman Match
4th Place: Keenan vs VVV vs Greedy vs Lazarus – House of Anarchy Universal Title Match

*Some may a pattern developed in the voting but 2006 was definitely Larry Gionet's year and it was very hard to decide what match of his to consider the Match of the Year. In line with the Feud of the Year, the voting went in favor of the final battle between Gionet and Biz, back at Iconoclasm. Another match from that event that got the voting boards attention was the Six Pack Challenge. The 6 men involved were the top echelon of SPW at the time and some of them are still running with the head of the pack.

Fan Favorite of the Year: "The Phoenix" Adam Lazarus
2nd Place: AsH
3rd Place: Sammy Knight
4th Place: Larry Gionet

*All throughout 2006, Adam Lazarus did battle with some of the biggest heels in the federation – guys like Vile Vince Viper, Steve Greedy, and Art Blake. This as well as his constant defense of what is proper in SPW earns him the honor of Face of the Year. AsH's battle against SPW CEO, AJ Black put him in the runner-up place while newcomer Sammy Knight definitely deserves his 3rd place position, right before the former World champ, Larry Gionet – a man who recently showed a side that we never thought we'd ever see from him in SPW.

Most Hated of the Year: The Biz
2nd Place: Sabbath
3rd Place: Steve Greedy
4th Place: Tiffany Lane

*When 2006 started, the invading forces from WILD made their presence known and their leader, The Biz was THE public enemy #1 in SPW at the time. Several months later, he made amends and has since then become the biggest champion of SPW pride. But the voting board will never forget the things that The Biz and his cohorts from WILD did back at Blood Brothers III, causing the biggest riot in SPW in a long time. The fact that The Biz placed higher than Sabbath & Steve Greedy is quite a feat as both of those men are still the biggest thorns in the sides of the SPW faces.

Honorary Comeback Wrestler of the Year: Despair

*Despair was introduced to SPW by Larry Gionet during the war against rival fed, WILD and once that situation was squared away, Despair could've packed up his bags and headed back into the distance. But instead he chose to stay put and build shop in SPW, which was a decision that made the fans incredibly happy. He won shocking acclaim by winning the million dollar cash prize and taking the Syko Summer Series. Unfortunately, the fans may not think too high of Despair right now after his recent actions against Spikyjim, going so far as to retire his hero at Internecine.

Finisher of the Year: The Journey's End – Executed by Larry Gionet
2nd Place: Satan's Strut – Executed by Steve Greedy and/or VVV
3rd Place: Con-Man's Special – Executed by Cash Banks
4th Place: The Staten Island Spike – Executed by The Biz

*Larry Gionet's choice submission finisher got him very far in 2006 with the huge wins at the MAT Invitational as well as propelling him up the rankings to becoming an SPW World Champion. The same can be said for The Satan's Strut which started the year in the arsenal of the `King of Snakes' Vile Vince Viper and by years end, it took Steve Greedy right into holding the World title. Cash Bank's Con Man's Special is simply a finisher many don't see these days and although Banks is fairly new to SPW, it can be assured he will go places as long as he keeps that move in his repertoire.

Tag Team of the Year: Wild & Starring (Van Wild & Scott Starring)
2nd Place: The Dream Team (Jeff Keenan & Adam Cage)
3rd Place: The Devil's Own (Langham & Haggerty)
4th Place: The Raw Deal (Chris Scarlet & Ric Beauty)

*Who else to get Tag Team of the Year than the current SPW World Tag champions. They have proven themselves and have shown they will continue to do so whether as part of The Raw Deal or on their own. The other teams to place in this category are some of the top tag team names in SPW for the year 2006 – former champions as well as possible top contenders for the titles as we start things off in 2007.

Female Wrestler of the Year: Marissa Monet
2nd Place: Tiffany Lane
3rd Place: Marissa Monet
4th Place: Poet Wright

*It's a surprise that the current SPW Women's World Champ landed in 2nd Place but the other 3 women have definitely made an impact in the company, even putting the women's division back on the map of professional wrestling. Marissa Monet's team suffered the majority of losses in the Queens' Chalice Tournament but when Monet captured the belt The Great Black Shark was virtually unstoppable. A lot should be expected from all 4 of these women in the year 2007.

Stable of the Year: The Aristocracy (Steve Greedy, Jake Evans, Fabian Cruz, Serena Black)
2nd Place: The Raw Deal (Jason Storm, Chris Scarlet, Ric Beauty)
3rd Place: Team WILD (The Biz, Champ Rockefeller, David Rheaume, Jester Chad Allen, Tripp Skylark)

*The biggest stable in SPW had to be the one led by current SPW World Champ, Steve Greedy. The Aristocracy have made enemies of many members of the locker room and former vets like Jeff Keenan and Jason Storm. Their purpose was to put Steve Greedy on top and they accomplished their mission by year's end even in sacrifice of their own health. Things definitely heated up between The Raw Deal & The Aristocracy which is what made them the runner-ups in the category.

Manager of the Year: Serena Black
2nd Place: Ronnie Jamieson
3rd Place: "Double D" Devin DeMasters

*Even the managers got into it during 2006 as Serena Black tricked her father into allowing her near Steve Greedy long enough to make him her charge and bring him all the way up to a huge title win at the end of the year as well as introduce some of the most dangerous athletes to SPW we have ever seen. The runner up, Ronnie Jamieson, winner in 2004 and 2005, did well for himself in 2006 with LezKanic but it was Serena Black who finally knocked him off the pedestal.

Cruiserweight/Lightweight of the Year: Despair – 200 lbs.
2nd Place: Andrew Davis – 215 lbs.
3rd Place: Adam Cage – 226 lbs.
4th Place: The Biz – 180 lbs.

*The voting board saw the names of the nominees and immediately thought the award had to go to Despair – a name synonymous with cruiserweight. The other nominees should be honored to just be in the same category with Despair. Special note to rioting fans of AsH- he no longer qualifies because technically he is no longer a cruiserweight!

Brawler/Hardcore Wrestler of the Year: "Heavy Mental" Dave Pietka
2nd Place: "Deadpool" Ian Christoph
3rd Place: Vile Vince Viper
4th Place: Sabbath

*In a long list of hardcore fighters in SPW, the big one right now is Evil Voodoo Dave. His fights against Dante Madison have entertained the fans and satisfied their bloodlust. The presence of Ian Christoph at 2nd place is a sign of what hardcore was during the beginning of 2006 and for Shootfire Puro in 2007.

Rookie of the Year: Sammy Knight
2nd Place: Dante Madison
3rd Place: Fabian Cruz
4th Place: Jake Evans

*"Sanguine" Sammy Knight has done a lot in the short time he has been in SPW, moving upward in the rankings as well as earning a ton of respect from the locker room and the fans. The same can be said for Madison, Cruz, and Evans who certainly solidified their places in SPW. It's a shame Cruz and Evans will not be able to compete in SPW for quite some time, but Dante Madison remains, The King of the Streets and protégé of World Champion Steve Greedy looking to trump all his colleagues and rise all the way to the top.
