either side of the mask. Underneath the wings a Priest with his hands
together is carefully woven in gold. He wears white elbow pads with
black outlining, same picture of a preacher with his hands together are
on the back in gold.
His
tights are also white with black going around the waist, the symbol of
the Priest with his hands together are on either side. On the back of
his tights the word, "Bendecido" is on the seat in black block lettering. His attire is finished by white boots with gold laces.
El
Rey Futuro is densely muscled, he has develop biceps, and a lean eight
pack of muscles. His shoulders are broad and developed as well. He's
extremely muscular, with a picture perfect body.
Biography: El
Rey Futuro was born March 15, 1986.. that's as much as we know about
his background before his training for Lucha Libre began. We do know
that Futuro was trained privately by the Lucha Libre Legend, El Angel
who competed in both Federacion Mexicana De La Lucha Afiliada and the
Promocion Mexicana de Luca Libre Campeon between 1978 and 1996. He was
a two time Promocion Mexicana de Luca Libre Campeon De Mundo and a
three time Federacion Mexicana De La Lucha Afiliada Del Mundo. Angel,
whom has never been seen in public without his mask has kept Futuro's
identity a secret. Many think Futuro may in fact be El Angel's son, but
that has never been proven.
Another
rumor states that Angel is the only person that Futuro speaks to, as
since his debut on February 12, 2002 he has never said a _single_ word
in public. With someone that became the PMLL Campeon Del Mundo when he
was only seventeen years old, you don't need to say much to prove your
point. Futuro won his debut match which was a six man by pinning Landon
Morris in under four minutes after hitting his soon to be famous
Sujecion Del Futuro Splash defeating the talented American wrestler.
Futuro would stun the crowd with the fluid nature of his attack that
saw him mix power and speed, in order to make quick work of his
competitor.
Over
the next few months Futuro would continue wrestling in tag and six man
matches until May when he managed to pin the then PMLL Campeon De Mundo
El Demonio Rojo with a Magistral Cradle. This would start a feud where
Rojo would challenge Futuro to face all five other members of the Demon
Company in a series of matches that would take place over the next two
and a half months. Futuro would first defeat One half of the PMLL
Campeon de Parejas Antonio Aguilar
with his Sujecion Del Futuro Splash in under ten minutes. A few weeks
later Futuro would defeat the other half of the PMLL Campeon de Parejas
Benito Aguilar in a one sided affair, ending the match with a Rolling
Clutch pin in near seven minutes. This match surprised a lot of people
around Lucha Libre due to the skill Futuro was showing.
The
following week Futuro would face the six foot seven three hundred
thirty two pound La Bestia Alonso, who wears one of the most
intimidating masks in Lucha Libre. Alonso would give Futuro a beating,
yet Futuro would eventually get the big man down long enough to connect
with his Sujecion Del Futuro
Splash and get the pinfall to the crowds delight. This would spark the
rest of the Demon Company to come out and beat down the young Futuro
until "The Magnificent"
Federico Archuleta, Dragon Pasado Jr, and El Visionario of Lucha Glory
came down to the ring with chairs to scatter Demon Company. Rojo would
go on to successfully defend the PMLL Campeonato against Archuleta at
PMLL's Pay Per View. Futuro would miss the show as he was recovering
from his beating.
The
day after the Pay Per View Futuro took on former PMLL Campeon De Mexico
Cazador Del Demonio. Demonio would promise the young, undefeated Futuro
would taste defeat to El Demonio Rojo. Cazador
would come close a few times to pinning Futuro until Futuro reversed a
Cazador unique roll up attempt into a sitdown back driver, where he
would hold on and get the victory over Cazador. This would leave one
last member of Demon Company for Futuro to face before he could
challenge for Rojo's title.
Two
weeks later Futuro would face the six foot four, two hundred sixty two
pound Carlos Vazquez who had turned his back on the hearts of Lucha
Libre fans in order to join Demon Company at the beginning of 2002.
Vazquez had already been the PMLL Campeon De Mundo three times and many
thought Futuro stood no chance at defeating him. The date would be July
13, 2002. Vazquez would give Futuro more than he could handle, and came
close to defeating him on many occasions during their over twenty
minute encounter. Futuro would reverse Vazquez's vaunted Brainbuster
and would nail him with his Bomb De Rey Short Powerbomb. Futuro would
then quickly go to the top rope and drill his Sujecion Del Futuro
Splash to defeat Vazquez. The following week, "Lucha Libre Illustrated" dubbed Futuro, "Bendecido."
Over the next two weeks El Demonio Rojo would give a few in-rings with
Demon Company behind him as he cut down El Rey Futuro saying the
youngster was just lucky. On the second week Futuro would come out to
the arena holding a card that had a picture of a wrestler holding a
title high over his head, the sun shown down over him as people carried
the wrestler on his shoulders. He had another card with someone down
inside of a ring with a wrestler standing over him with the sun shining
down on them, with a crowd behind them cheering. El Demonio Rojo would
get their meaning, and would not be pleased with Futuro’s show of
confidence while the crowd loved it. This would become a staple of
Futuro, ever since he has used these cards instead of words to get his
point across.
The next week Futuro would face Rojo for the PMLL Campeon De Mundo at the PMLL, "House Of Lucha" Pay Per View. Futuro would have the crowd chanting, "Bendecido"
from his entrance until the end of the match. Futuro and Rojo would
battle for over twenty five minutes, Vazquez and Cazador would be at
ringside with Rojo while Archuleta and Pasado Jr came out with Futuro.
Futuro would give the veteran all he could handle and then some, his
Demon Company allies would constantly interfere on the behalf of Rojo.
Futuro
would hit Rojo with his Bomb De Rey, but the Aguilars had come out and
taken out Pasado Jr and Archuleta allowing Cazador to distract the
referee as Vazquez would hit Futuro with his Brainbuster which allowed
Rojo to get the victory which would mark the first loss of Futuro's
career. It was the first time he was pinned or was on the losing side
of a match.
This
would not stop Futuro as he would team with Dragon Pasado Jr; his Lucha
Glory stablemate, on October 1, 2002 to become the PMLL Campeon de
Parejas, defeating Demon Company's Los Aguilars.
Futuro and Pasado Jr. would defend the titles successfully until
February 22, 2003. Futuro would turn his attention to the current PMLL
Campeon Del Mundo the Japanese Super Lion. Over the next few months
Futuro would defeat older wrestlers to earn a championship match
against Super Lion, who won the Championship on February 5, 2003.
On
May 13, 2003 Futuro would challenge Super Lion, going into the match
Futuro had only been on the losing side of a match twice, being pinned
both times. The Super Junior, Super Lion gave Futuro all the eighteen year
old could handle, but would eventually run into the Bomb De Rey which
allowed Futuro to hit his Sujecion Del Futuro and become the PMLL
Campeon De Mundo for the first time, becoming the youngest champion of
all time by more than seven years. This was a huge accomplishment as
PMLL was established in 1963.
This
would be the start of Futuro's historic rise in Lucha Libre, over the
next six years Futuro would only be on the losing side of a match ten
times, while only taking a fall six of those occasions. He still never
spoke a word and used his cards to communicate with the world, this
didn't keep the Mexican media from swarming around him and his
merchandise to be sold at record levels.
Shootfire Pro Wrestling
Owner, Gideon Cain approached Futuro's management in January 2009, but
were originally turned away as Futuro was in a contract with PMLL and
showed no interest in leaving.
Cain
would show interest again at the end of March, this time Futuro's staff
would enter negotiations with Cain and would eventually reach an
agreement on April 2, 2009 which would bring Futuro to become a full
time SPW wrestler. Futuro will appear on at least ten Shootfire shows a
month, and his contract has
many incentives. He will be followed by a huge contingent of Mexican
reporters and has the opportunity to become SPW World Champion.
